Course Overview
The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science takes four academic years. To qualify for the award of the degree, a candidate must take a minimum of fifty six (56) course units or 168 credit hours which are inclusive of a Computer Science Project, a community based attachment and an industrial attachment. All these are tailored to ensure that our graduates become self-reliant, self-motivated, creative and innovative.

- Educational Objectives. The educational objectives include:
- Broad Foundation: Understanding of and ability to apply relevant mathematical, scientific, and basic engineering knowledge.

- Specialization: Understanding of and ability to apply the skills and concepts within one or more of the specializations within computer engineering.

- Design: Theoretical understanding of and ability to engage the creative design process through the integration and application of diverse technical knowledge and expertise to meet customer needs and address social issues.
- Research: Ability to formulate and answer empirical and theoretical questions through participation in undergraduate research projects for interested and qualified students.
- Leadership: Awareness of the need for engineering leaders both within the profession and the larger community, as well as some preparation to assume those leadership roles.

- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact professionally with others in the workplace, to engage effectively in teamwork, and to function productively on multidisciplinary group projects.
A candidate will be eligible for admission if he/she fulfills the minimum admission requirement set forth by AZU and the Ministry of Higher Education of South Sudan for the year and shows passion for learning to take advantage of the academic opportunities at AZU. Students will be admitted to the Bachelor of Information Technology degree program through three avenues: Direct Entry, Mature Entry and Diploma Entry Schemes.

January, May, and September intakes
All students admitted to the degree of Bachelor of Computer Science must satisfy the minimum requirements of:
- A Mean grade of C+ (plus) in the Secondary Education and a minimum of grade C+ in both Mathematics and Physics or Physical Sciences; or its equivalent;
or - An A-Level Certificate with a minimum of two principal passes and a subsidiary and a minimum of a credit pass in both Mathematics and Physics., or its equivalent;
or - A Diploma from a recognized institution; or
- A Pre-University certificate from an institution recognized by the Senate, with a
minimum GPA of 2.50 - A degree in a science-based discipline from a recognized university by the University Senate.

Examinations:
- All units are examined in the semester in which they are taken.
- Continuous assessments will comprise practicals, tests and assignments and will account for a percentage of the total marks.
- Written University Examinations comprises a weighted percentage of the total marks.
- All practical attachments shall be assessed out of 100%.
Each unit is graded out of 100 marks. Marks are translated into letter grades as follows:
